What's in our podcast?

January 2011

In this opening podcast of 2011 we look at some future stars due to rear their respective heads from the underground this year.

Dustin O'Halloran's track is a wonderful piece of emotive contemporary classical from FatCat. Om Unit is on remix duties for Ninja Tunes' Stateless. With a string of high profile remixes and an completely new spacious yet intense sound palette he is sure to be making a big impact this year.

Domino Publishing provide us with a track from South Carolina's premier chill-wave export, Toro Y Moi. One of Hear No Evil's newest composers Memotone also offer up a recent recordings on A Future Without.

A track that is screaming out for sync potential is Colourmusic's Yes! on British label Memphis Industries, home to the likes of The Go! Team and Field Music.

Not satisfied with being in one of the coolest bands in the world right now Jamie XX has been prolific with his remix schedule of late and is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with. RAMP have kindly provided us with his killer Falty DL mix to prove it.

Crammed music's Tradi-Mods vs Rockers album released last year was an explosive combination of Konono No1's world music with the likes of Animal Collective, Deerhoof and Shackleton to name a few stepping up for remix duties. Check out Jherek Bischoff's remake of their track Kule Kule alongside great new tracks from Ghostly International's Shigeto and Domino publishing's Vetiver.
